About the event

DESCRIPTION: Our courses are delivered by industry professionals in a state of the art professional environment, utilizing the latest tools and equipment in the field. Our classes prioritize small class sizes, ensuring that you receive personalized attention from our instructors. Throughout the course, you will be provided with sample projects to work on, allowing you to create a finished product that serves as a testament to your skills and can be showcased to attract potential clients.

INSTRUCTORS:

These classes will be Instructed by Chris Salisbury and Dan Conti , the founders of Spayce, Wepaintkitchencabinets.com, nuDoors and United Finishes. Together they have 40 years experience in high end fine finishing, and high production millwork finishing.

AGENDA:

Step 1: The Fundamentals

Learn the basics of using a mil gauge, dialing in a spray gun for the perfect pattern, and understanding how site conditions and climate influence your finish.

Step 2: Preparing Unfinished Wood and MDF for Primer

Understanding the appropriate grit of sandpaper to use, whether to hand sand or machine sand, how to inspect for repairs in your substrate, and the right fillers to use and how to apply them.

Step 3: Applying Primer

Receive personalized instruction in the spray booth as you learn how to achieve the perfect primed finish. Take the opportunity to ask your instructor any questions while you’re on the gun.

Step 4: Sanding Primer

Understanding the appropriate grit of sandpaper to use, whether to hand sand or machine sand, how to inspect for repairs in your substrate, and the right fillers to use and how to apply them.

Step 5: Applying the top coat (paint)

Return to the spray booth with your instructor for additional one-on-one guidance as you refine your technique and apply the topcoat on the primed items you've been working on. (you will be given all items that you spray to bring home with you)

NOTES:

  • NO LUNCH OR BREAKFAST PROVIDED (Lunch break will be 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.)
  • MUST BRING THEIR OWN MASK - IF YOU DO NOT BRING A CARTRIDGE RESPIRATOR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SPRAY 
  • WEAR PROPER ATTIRE
